AIA does all it can to make sure that each child learns. By providing built-in extended day hours, children have the opportunity to get extra help if they need it. AIA also offers Saturday tutorials for students who need one-on-one tutoring help.

    What is a Charter School?

A charter school is a nonsectarian public school of choice that operates with freedom from many of the regulations that apply to traditional public schools. The "charter" establishing each such school is a performance contract detailing the school's mission, program, goals, students served, methods of assessment, and ways to measure success.

The length of time for which charters are granted varies, but most are granted for 3-5 years. At the end of the term, the entity granting the charter may renew the school's contract. Charter schools are accountable to their sponsor–usually a state or local school board–to produce positive academic results and adhere to the charter contract.

The basic concept of charter schools is that they exercise increased autonomy in return for this accountability. They are accountable for both academic results and fiscal practices to several groups: the sponsor that grants them, the parents who choose them, and the public that funds them.

Can my child attend a WCUSD school other than my neighborhood school?

We understand that students and families have unique needs that deserve special consideration. Thus, we have established policies that allow students to transfer schools within the district. At West Covina Unified School District, we pride ourselves by offering the same high quality teachers and programs, clean and safe facilities, and high quality standards-based instruction at each of our schools. We encourage you to set up a tour at the schools that interest you to discover the site that best fits your child’s needs. For more information regarding these policies, please contact a member of our pupil services staff.

    What are the school’s hours?
Students who attend school regularly are more likely to succeed. Please ensure your child arrives at school on time and that he/she is picked up promptly at the end of the day. School starts at 8:30 a.m. and ends at 2:00 p.m.

What should I do if my child will be absent from school?

Please schedule doctor appointments and other appointments outside of school hours. But if your child is ill or must be absent, please notify the school by calling us at (520) 822-9418.

    Is there a dress code?
To ensure an optimal learning environment for all students, we have a dress code here at Robles with specific dress requirements. Please read more about student dress requirements.

What if my child needs bus transportation?
We provide transportation to students who meet our requirements. Visit our district’s Transportation page to view current schedules and for bus rules and regulations.

How do I register my child at Robles Elementary?
It’s easy! Simply stop by our school office, and fill out the necessary forms. Don’t forget to bring your child’s birth certificate, immunization record, the address of the last school he/she attended, and proof of residency. You can also check out our district’s registration page.
